Fish...you seem to be our expert legal advisor...so what is the "REAL" way you are chosen for jury duty.
They claim it's by drivers license but is it...I still think it's voter registration.
Also do you have any advice on getting out of it.
I didn't get it but Kenny did about his 3rd or 4th time.
Personally I think that if you want to do it great...if you don't there are plenty of other people out there that want to.
He is self employed and work comes at short notice, they are telling him he has to go in front of the judge to get out of it, the are also requesting copies of his personl taxes.
I figure unemployment is around 10%...go and get one of those people and leave us poor working slobs alone.

lists vary by jurisdiction. drivers license and voter registration are just two of the ways.
if he has been called 3 or 4 times and you have not been called, think about what list K is on that you are not on, and that looks like the list.
they want to see his schedule C to confirm self employment.
if he tells the judge that he has served 3 or 4 times and that it a hardship because of his particular work situation, he is making two very good arguments to be excused.
other than illness, judges like those two arguments the best.
folks who are not chosen to sit are usually discharged and told to go back to work. the phone calls come in the evening.
so perhaps the answers to the attorney's questions might make the atty use a challenge to get rid of him.
Q. so, mr prospective juror, can you be fair and impartial to give my client a just result ?
A. no ! those bastards have called me for jury duty too many times, and my justifiable if regrettable anger will interfere with my ability to be objective. i'm sorry, but i just can't help it.
reporting the first day with flu like symptoms might work wonders, too.

Thx fish.
I've never registered to vote. Now watch..just saying that I've jinxed myself and will be called. lol
He had a friend of his that just never replyed to the letter...it wasn't certified so he never got it. Not sure how far that goes either.
He said he was going to fill out the paperwork, didn't talk to him tonight yet so I'm not sure how he did.

geezeus, woman, at least on a local level, your vote may make a difference.
and when you run for office to clean out the swamp, they will use it against you, that you had not registered or voted.
on our original subject, there is usually a questionnaire. your guy should make his reasons and objections known asap, ie in his original paperwork.
on the other hand, maybe he wants to be a juror ?
i'd like to do it meself, but lawyers are just about automatically taken off the lists.
what kind of fool lawyer would let a lawyer be on the jury ?

I know..If I would have voted just once, what a different turn of events the world would have had...who knows maybe Hillery would have gotten in.
No...He has no interest in being a juror.
