they call for stretching. i have changed the unproductive protocol they gave me and use another.
it has made a noticeable difference.
do try the stretching, 3 or 4 times a day.

Off to chiro tomorrow, hope he fixes hip and that may take some pressure off the ankle too. Ice, stretch but work kinda kills any progress.

kinda sounds like it could be nerve impingement and that's a chiro's ballpark.
good luck

so, it's inflammation.
oh, baddy !
we live near the ocean, and in maine it is always cold. so i go stand in water to ice my knees.
sounds like you should run a tub of only cold water only and give your entire leg/ankle a good soak to get a good cool down.
throw a couple of trays of ice in, too.
i have to sit in the tub as i run the water because i have a very difficult time lowering myself into cold water.
i would also stretch when my leg is warm, but be very gentle and gradual about it.

I posted my last tub episode! Lol Before they drained our lake at the dam there was a rock cut that mad a “bath tub” water came down over it made a wonderful natural jacuzzi! Been taking turmeric for the inflammation as well.
