Can't say it was much of a workout but I did take some time to do some Goose hunting yesterday. Trip down the Delaware River in a canoe. I was center guy so other than trudging through the low spots and retrieving the geese not too much of a workout. But a good day of relaxation..Fish said I need some of that.
Ended up with 20 birds between 9 of us. I really think some of these guys just pull the trigger to make noise. lol
Long day 3 am till about 7:00 last night till I finished with goose chili...with fresh tomato, garlic, and jalepeno from the garden. Doesn't get much better than that. None of the others like goose so I'm set for the winter now.

Glad you took some time.
Don't know much about wild geese, except they can be a gaggle on the ground and a chevron in the air. Lots of other names used too.
I infer that one does not have to hang the birds to season before using the meat.
One of the signs of the season is the sound of the geese as they fly over on their way to wherever they go. A melancholy sound, as it signifies the coming of winter.
We spent a weekend with our sportsmen friends out on their family island off the coast of Maine. They were somewhat excited to hear the grouse drumming. There have not been game birds on the island for some years.
And the talk turned to shotguns.
