Help. Suffering from this and I haven't had any luck with podiatrists for other foot problems, so my motivation is to self treat. Any ideas?

I have/had that. It was pretty painful especially when I was one the treadmill. I went in to the podiatrist and he gave me a steriod shot in my heal, totally painless, and I had some insoles made (for the life of me I cant think of what you call those).
Also I do some stretches. One that you can do is stand on the edge of the step and let your heal hang down, like if you were doing a calf raise only dont raise.
Also you can extend your leg and pull your toes (foot) back, towards your body. Does that make sense?
Also place a golf ball or tennis ball on the floor and roll it around with the bottom of your foot. I was also told to ice it a lot.
I had the shot and got the insoles about 2 years ago and havent had any problems at all with it. I try not to go barefoot anymore and did get a couple really good pair of shoes. We have a place called Shulers here. They know a lot about plantar fasciitis.
I also got a pair of what I believe were called Birkenstock clogs that I use for slippers.
Hope that helps some.
Pam
