Sunday I introduced April to weight training. We worked out together at the fitness center where I work. They don't have a lot to work with, but it's better than nothing until we can find a gym. Also, since there's usually no one there on the weekends she was able lift without feeling self-consious.
We did some deadlifts and some core work, just getting her a feel for lifting. I'm in class all day today, so my posts will be few and far between.

I think that is fantastic that you and April workout together. I'm sure she'll go far with you to help her. So how did she like it? I would love to workout at a gym if I could be assured that no one was going to be there. I understand that self conscious feeling, thats why I like working out in my basement. Having someone to workout with is great. I'm still trying to convince my workout partner to move on up to my neck of the woods. I'm getting sick of cussing myself out.

April liked it pretty well. She was amazed at how much more taxing weight training is than cardio. She'd been working out with my sister in law who's a cardio nut.
