I know we tend not to go to Politics and religion often here, but I don't get it.... ... My Mom as I think you all know has alzheimers, she's been holding her own but it is getting progressivly worse. Taking a toll on my Dad. She does have diabetis but overall in't in horrible health other than the alz...I don't get it!
.... I have a neighbor, up in his mid 80's has had health problems for years, dialysis, has had part of his foot amputated. Is in pretty bad shape at the moment, got gangreen in the other leg amputated part of that, about a week later didn't think he would make it through the night and now a week after that they are doing yet another amputation....I don't get it!
...I have another friend that lost her son in an auto accident, good kid, bright future...I don't get it!

i have friends who have had great success with the WII system in the treatment of her father's alzheimers. he is involved in the bowling program. gets him moving, mentally involved, and enthusiastic.
as for the co-existence of evil with an all powerful and/or all good God ...
think you are talking about what liebniz first referred to as theodicy.
(yes, the same liebniz who, coincidentally and contemporaneously with newton, invented, or rather discovered, calculus.)
give it a google and get over 600,000 hits.
but there is no answer.
i generally resort to the book of job.
"I'm God, you're not. I know, you don't. And I'm not telling, you wouldn't understand anyway. you'll just have to have faith."
keep the faith,

Faith, such an easy thing to have when things are going good in your life.
Here is what Ryans doctors nurse said to me once. Life is like a big jigsaw puzzle and we are so close we can only see but a small part of it. But God, he can see the whole thing. He knows exactly where all the pieces go. How they fit. One day we will see the whole puzzle and we will understand his plan. But for now as fish said its not for us to know.
I don't like it either and often wonder why. I can't make any sense out it, none.
Faith...I wish it came as easy as it used to.
I try to keep it fish.
