Pam: Jack are you sure a bat can't get into the fireplace (the part where you build the fire)
Jack: there is no way a bat can get in there. They would have come down the flue and they have nothing to grab on to. They just. Won't do that.
Pam: well how do they know there's nothing to grab on to.
JAck: blah blah blah can't fly blah blah it can't happen.
Thursday-
Pam: Jack Shelby is smelling around the fireplace. She never does that. I think there is a bat in there.
Jack: there is no way a bat can get in there.
Friday-
Pam- jack I hear something in the fireplace there is a bat in there come down here right now and listen.
He hears nothing. Shelby (the dog by the way) is still smelling.
Jack goes back to bed. I hear it again, he comes down checks it out and nothing. I KNOW there is a bat in there. Jack assures me they can't get in there and goes back to bed.
So I'm watching TV with kara its almost midnight and I hear it again. This time so does kara. I grab the flash light and shine it in and what do you know a big ugly bat is staring back at me showing me his fangs!!!
Nope a bat can't get in there.
Right Jack.

He wont be able to get up the flue again, not enough room to fly. I think he's dead now. Now we have to get in there and take the fire brick off and find him before he starts to decay. Darn bats!

I understand this but I don't have any mosquitos in my house. Now there is something flying around in my bedroom so here I sit up on the couch. I've only had about 3 1/2 hours of sleep because both kids are sick. At least its never boring around here.

Well bat is gone. Unfortunately he will have to be killed. We put some kind of sticky board in the fireplace. We were hoping we would just be able to release him but he fought so hard to get off he was really stuck. Bat guy took him home. Let's hope we don't have anymore.

Well we tried reasoning with him. Asked him to leave but he wouldn't go.
I actually felt terrible. I thought he would be able to be released. But even if he could have been there is a possibility he would bite whoever was letting him go. A guy just a few towns south of us got bit by one last week and now has to go through rabie shots. We'd rather avoid that.
Guess the bat guy found a couple more by our bedroom. He was able to get them and will release them. I'm sick of bats.
