my 36 year old son is beginning the px 90 program.
he hopes to condition himself from scratch to a fitness level sufficient to participate in a serious obstacle course race in May.
i have told him it was a wonderful idea, that he should participate and have fun, but that he should not be disappointed if he is not as fit as he might wish to be in 5 months.
i have told him that if he starts now and trains properly, he will be ready to test himself in May 2013.
please, tell all about px 90 so i can pass it on.
and the dates of posting on px 90 here. i can't find them because the search engine will not register that few indicators.
thanks

Awesome! If he likes variey he will like P90X. I did kind of a modified version when I did it. I didn't have a proper place to be able to do the pull-ups, plus I don't think I could have done one at gunpoint....I used resistance bands. Probably not as good as the real thing but If you push yourself it wasn't bad. I liked the variety of workouts you got..everyday was something different. I was not a huge fan of doing 1-1/2 hours of yoga..I enjoy yoga but not that much. If you push yourself through it..again it was a good workout. I didn't follow their meal plan but I did try and watch what I was eating. I did the full program and was much more fit than when I started..gained 4 lbs but was in better shape. I don't know how "fit" your son is or how into working out he is. For me I tried to take note of small things. Something like how many Jumping Jacks I was doing before I got winded, keep that number in mind each time you do them and you quickly see progress. Let us know how he makes out with it. my 36 year old son is beginning the px 90 program. he hopes to condition himself from scratch to a fitness level sufficient to participate in a serious obstacle course race in May. i have told him it was a wonderful idea, that he should participate and have fun, but that he should not be disappointed if he is not as fit as he might wish to be in 5 months. i have told him that if he starts now and trains properly, he will be ready to test himself in May 2013. please, tell all about px 90 so i can pass it on. and the dates of posting on px 90 here. i can't find them because the search engine will not register that few indicators. thanks
