Let's see if I can get away with complaining about a sore back tomorrow . I went way past where I thought I would go for the 3 rep maxes, way past. I even measured the angle of decline with a big protactor and what I thought was 45d was 60d(when the knee bend is factored in it's probably a 45-50d bend). So Pam,give me a little slack if I can't straighten up tomorrow . Arch back good mornings(-1,from the J's,belt after warmups)--warmups.1x3x185,210,235,260,280,300,320,330,340,350,360,380***,390(F),I should have stayed with 20# increments after the 320 but I didn't think I'd go as far as I did; GHR--3x12xBW; Rev. hypers--3x8x140; Standing ab pulldowns--5x8x70; Rev. BB curls--4x10x55; Tri pushdowns--3x25; DB curls--1x10x25,30,35. After the gm's I had to go light on every thing else. I was pretty wiped. You be the judge on the lower half .

Fish,Pam's right,i'm just a shrimp. I'm not that strong but I'm working on it . I''m 5'-6",175#'s and If I were an hour glass there wouldn't be much sand left. Pam,thanks for the compliment on the strength part of your post . Here,in my opinion are the beginning levels of strength: Male--squat,3xBW;deadlift 2.5 to 3xBW; bench 2xBW; Female--anything you can lift is strong . As you can see I've got a ways to go just to be able to knock on the door of the strength room.

I've seen shrimp, you're not one. You are all muscle Jack and you know it...thats why I dont like you. And you know da*n well you are strong. Give yourself credit where credit is due. Ok whats with this "Female--anything you can lift is strong". Let's see some numbers up there. What is considered strong for a woman? I would love to know where I stand.

Pam,the male numbers I quoted were in a strength table I found in Bigger Faster Stronger a few years ago. The male numbers were burned in my mind. I'm going to try and remember the numbers for females but I may be off a little. Remember these were general numbers for college all-Americans:
Bench--0.8-1.25xBW; Squat--1.5xBW; Deadlift--1.5xBW
These are just ballpark close and you're real close and have a chance to get these numbers. Let's see if we can get these.

We obviously have different ideas of "real close". Even going by what I want to get back down too I'm not close Jack. I am on my deads but not by a long shot on my bench and squat. Now if I could get down to 130 I'd have it made. Thanks for depressing me Jack. I was feeling pretty good about being able to lift bins of sod into the van but you kind of popped my bubble...thanks a lot. Next time I ask you for numbers like that...lie. Back to work for me...I decided that going out to dig, lift and carry was not a good idea without first having breakfast.

Pam,your a lot closer than you think and on top of that you're ready to break out once you get your routine established. You are much nearer these numbers than I am and I'm going to make mine. How about you,are you up to a challenge ? What we both tend to forget is that we need to measure our strength gains from where we started and not stack them up against those that have advantage of the latest training methods, facilities, longevity and certain "nutritional" supplements that enhance performance. I'm as guilty as O.J. when it comes to comparing myself with the Westside guys but sometimes I'll get realistic and see where I've come from and know that I've made some progress. You should be proud of what you've accomplished and know you've got a lot of potential just waiting to be be untapped. Go get "em" girl. What's the most important meal of the day..........that's right,it's breakfast. You've got to make time for that one. I love it when the tables are turned and I get to be the all-knowing,wise one for a change .
