Great idea for pizza if you're grain free. Just made one using homemade sausage as the crust. Spread it on a pizza pan, bake at 400 until done, about 15-20 min, add toppings and throw back in until cheese is melted.
I've been trying to find a good grain free non soggy pizza crust forever. This was awesome. Made a turkey sausage next time I'm going to try an Italian sausage n

so, tell me lots more about making sausage.
we got the meat grinder attachment for the KA mixer.
works pretty well. lots of demos on u tube. key is to chill the parts in the freezer before using.
not so good that we have to wash, dry, and veg oil parts immediately after use or they rust.
using chuck to get enough fat into the hamburgers.
much better than store bought ground beef.
want to make sausage too.
reviews on sausage stuffer attachment for mixer not good.
thinking of getting a jerky gun instead. some come with a number of nozzles including for sausage stuffing.

never had a problem using stuff @ room temp. We used the tube that comes with the meat grinder for stuffing takes a few times to get the hang of it. I also like to use tomato juice, mix in all the dry ingredients and then mix that into the cut up meat. Run it through the grinder 2 x's package it and let it in the fridge over night before freezing it...flavor has a chance to go through the meat better. These days I don't go through all the hassle...I pull the ground meat out and mix seasonmings into that as I need it. Ken ( ex) I know had been making alot of sausage but he has been buying the pre packaged sausage mixes.

I'd Love a meat grinder. I just throw my meat into the food processor and process it that way. Different texture but I guess it all tastes the same.

do you have a kitchenaid mixer ?
oh, that's right, you have a different brand, the name of which i forget.
kitchenaid went from great when they were made by Hobart, down to not so good when the new mfgr used plastic gears, and has worked its way back since they got rid of the bad gears.
i would check to see if your guys have an attachment.
i've tried the food processor, and while it works, the texture is quite different.

They do make one for my mixer. I'm adding it to my Christmas list.
Yeah very different texture but it works for now.
