I didn't get the PR I was shooting for but had a good bench workout. This was shirt day,first time since May,and I was anxious to try some new things out from my observations at the meet yesterday. I wanted to work on bringing the bar lower on my chest and for the most part was successful. I did more reps than I had planned and then when I realized I might have a chance for a PR,I just didn't have that last bit of uuumph to lock it out. I didn't have my logs with me and thought my old PR was 330 but it was 335 so it wouldn't have mattered any way
Flat BB bench press,Max Effort(shirt)--1x10x45,1x8x95,1x5x135,1x3x185; 1x1x225,245,265; Put shirt on--1x1x285,300,310,315,320,325,335(F);
Pin press(6" off chest)--1x3x224,245,265,275;
Tate press--1x10x40,45,50,55,60,60;
Lat pulldowns(cybex machine)--1x10x90,110,130,150,170,175( these are a lot easier on this machine than on my lat attachment at home).
DB front raise--4x8x30;
Cuff work--1x15x10,ea.,top half,bottom half,zottmans and rear delts;
Back extensions--1x10x50,70,90,100(another cybex machine and they felt real good on my back. I didn't strain,just went up in weight enough to get the blood flowing real well);
Hopefully I'll have Joe to workout with me on the next max bench cycle in about 8 weeks. I'll plan my reps for a PR now that I know a little more about the shirt and the "sweet spot" where the bar needs to hit. Oh, we worked out at the college and I got to use that killer bench again.
