God created...Oh no, wait...it was Pam! Powerlifting!
Well we've been here so long and have gotten older, and more things tend to hurt and break easier...so
Now we ride!...Powerlifting...sounds good!
Ok all 4 of us have bikes now...here is a good spot to share, rides, bikes, experiences, funny bike stories, you name it!
So this might just keep me motivated. I wasn't going to ride but I have this ride coming up in 2 weeks and I can't look like a slug.
I did ride 10 miles each Sat & Sun...didn't seem to bother me..Yes I had some trouble with the hills but I made it up them. Was busy Mon & Tuesday so I didn't ride...went out today and I guess riding outside DOES make a difference...didn't notice it til the first hill but my legs were sore...I forgot what sore felt like. So I'm glad I went..progress! If it hurts something must be happening.
Butt wasn't sore..I have the same seat on both bikes and the one on the trainer I ride so my butt be toughened up.
So here we are...what's your story?

almost everyone i observe struggling on a hill is in the wrong gear.
shift to a lower gear, and do it early, because when your pedals are under heavy load it is harder to get the chain off the sprocket to permit the shift.
and drop down on the bars to get your thighs to your chest and involve your glutes.
smoke, if i recall aright, you have a mighty fine road bike.
is it ok if i go back in the posts and repost some of the stuff ?
i seem to recall more than a few riding posts.
my bikes are broken right now.
took an injury to my foot because i rode with a pedal that had dropped a ball bearing, and haven't ridden since.
i guess i will have to fix 'em up and get out there.
but i am going to have to do a rebuild, and that means tearing it down, sending away for the new parts, and building it up.
maybe this winter ?
i'll try to find something to ride in the meantime.

I had the mt bike...gears were ok..I'm just outta shape for it..I'm getting there though.
Please..pull up whatever you think is helpful.
Time to get back up on that horse...you were riding 15-20 miles more than a few times a week..so was I.
Maybe this is the kick I needed...we'll see.

were there any lower gears when you were struggling up the hill ?
if so, shift down.

Well I already learned something. I always struggle with hills, I shift just before the hill. Thanks fish.
