About what's going on in Ferguson??
Curious what message they think they are sending and how burning down buildings and looting help make a difference.
Like I tell my kids, if you break into someone's house expect to be shot, armed or unarmed. I do realize we are not talking about a home invasion.

you may know that i worked as an assistant district attorney in the homicide bureau of the bronx district attorneys office for some years. during that time i made many presentations to the grand jury.
on the basis of what i have seen, and that includes much of the gj transcript, the outcome was correct.
but assuming i am correct, that is irrelevant.
these beasts were going to foul their own nest no matter what.

I'm curious on what the outcome would have been if the store owner would have pulled the gun out instead?..You don't hear anything about the fact that this guy just robbed someone, or that when the tox report came back that he was stoned.
Not saying that the cop was right by any means either.."Oh I had to stop and think about if what I was doing was legal"..PLEASE! He should have shot to wound and let the justice system do the rest.
They should be going after these people that broke into business, started fires ect.
There are soooo many things wrong with this that I'd be here all night typing.

shoot to wound is a common fallacy.
take an 8 by 12 piece of paper and hang it up way out in the woods where you do your firearm practice.
or go to the local range.
stand 10-15 feet away and shoot at it with a hand gun.
if you hit it more often than you miss, you're doing better than most folks.
and that is in an unstressed situation.
this cop had never fired his sidearm in anger before this event. he had just taken blows to the head that resulted in a fracture to the orbital bones.
he only hit this guy because the guy got closer and closer.
and in any event, the evidence is that the guy was in fact wounded more than once before he took the final hit.
cops are trained to point the firearm at the center of mass so that when they miss, they still hit.

Funny too I've never once heard anyone say, Isn't it a shame that he (the kid) put himself in that situation.
Heard the father say in an interview that his son respected law enforcement. Would hate to see how he acted if he didn't.
Its all sad, a child put himself in a situation to be killed, innocent business owes lost their businesses, an officer must live with what he did...its so very sad.
