Well we are moving

Tonight I heard water dripping in the sink. Our faucet will just leak a bunch of water now and then no clue why. Anyway I had one side filled with water to wash something and it just kept dripping, or was it !! So I get up and there is a freaking mouse in the sink!!!! so naturally I screamed for Jack who was sound asleep. I threw a towel in the sink but it crawled out!!! So I'm screaming, jack can't see shit because he doesn't have his glasses and it scurries across the back of the counter behind my mixer.

I am still screaming and jack asks Kara to run up and get his glasses. I am ordering jack to not take his eyes off that mixer he is asking me to stop screaming, no go jack, I'm screaming. Then it runs out, across the counter the other way and yes, I scream some more and ask Kara to also bring me down some clean underwear. Yes the mouse scared the piss out of me.

So it runs up into the vent in the stove, so naturally I now need a new oven, hate this one anyway. It finally emerges on the floor, how the hell did it get out!!!!! It crawls under the rug and Jack nabs the son of a bitch with a towel. Kara runs to open the garage door for him and yes, he drops the damn thing. Now Kara is screaming and letting the f word fly like crazy as she tries to run into her bedroom. Jack finally got the mouse and assures me he is very dead.

So now we have to move.

Seriously I am completely freaked out. I hate mice, they terrify me!!! I cleaned the entire kitchen and didn't find any droppings. I'll check the basement tomorrow so I can let the new owners know what I find.

So now the big question, how to I make sure there aren't anymore or get them all if there are. Are traps the best?? I am deathly allergic to cats or I'd get one. Would almost like to borrow one for a few days but I'd probably end up in the hospital.

I am so scared I don't think I can sleep tonight. You guys ever have mice in your house?? My house is almost always clean, the kitchen is ALWAYS clean. We aren't pigs, well some residents here are but they shall remain nameless, tall, young, male around 18 years old.

So exterminator, traps or just move???

anyway moving is not the answer as wherever you go you take yourself, and the mice and mosquitoes and flies, and etc., etc., etc.

now i am going to be serious.

if you become hysterical at the encounter with a wild mouse as you describe, you should go out tomorrow and buy a pet mouse.

it is much less expensive than therapy.

in fact, pets are therapeutic.

i like mice.

i regret that i have to kill the field and house mice in the buildings, but they are destructive.

mice - rodents - have teeth that grow like a human's fingernail. if they do not gnaw, the teeth will literally grow to overlap and the beastie will starve.

so they gnaw everything, and that's where the problem arises.

in a cage, it is a different thing.

mice are cute little creatures who make pretty good pets.

do a web search for info.


as for your wild mice, Smoke is correct in my experience. standard mouse traps baited with peanut butter.

I empty traps at work a few times a week this time of year.

So I decided to stay lol

But my stomach is in knots! So far we have 16 traps out more to come tomorrow.

I know there are more Is it possible to get rid of them completely once you have them?? I will not share my house with rodents!!!!

I'm seriously thinking about getting a cat. Apparently there arehypoallergenic ones. Not sure how that would work with the puppies though.

Fish there is no way in hell I would get a mouse as a pet. Hell no!!!

I have decided to try not to scream asuch IF there is a next time. We. Shall see how that works.

No mice in any of the traps not sure that's good though as there was poop in the sink yesterday morning. That was after we caught the one and I steralized my kitchen. I'd like to try to explain it away but Im pretty sure there are more. Going to add some traps with cheese tonight. If they are here I am going to get them!!!!

Well we caught something with one of the sticky traps....my dog lol my darling husband forgot to push the board back that kept the fogs from the trap when taking them out. Tanner yells to me in a panic stricken voice, I run out expecting a mouse and I see rocky in tanners arms with the trap in his mouth unable to open it. It wasn't funny then but it is now lol wish I would have taken a picture. Lucky for rocky the sticky traps aren't so sticky when in a cold garage. we are expecting a full recovery lol

I hate sticky traps! Spring traps are so much more humane. Every once in awhile you get one that catches a foot but for the most part its over quick.

Well Hack is beinguch more careful. I'm just thankful it was some poisonous trap, then again I wouldn't have that because of the dogs.

We have some kind traps that spin now. Put cheese or whatever in the bottom. We haven't csught a thing yet, well besides Rocky and some spiders.

I think I'll give it until Sunday and get rid of the sticky traps and snappy ones and just keep a few of those spinning traps.
