Sorry I haven't been here. Being laid up for so long and having nothing to be able to report was a real bummer. Really was getting to me.
So went in to the ortho on Thursday and got a cortisone shot. Was not going to do that but I could not stand not being able to do anything. Today is the first day its feeling pretty good. Still some pain but I can walk up and down the stair normally, slowly, but normally. Said it is arthritis Was not pleased about that. I already eat a pretty anti-inflamiatory diet so am just going to tweak that more and then add some supplements. I can't to avoid having a knee replacement.
He told me no squats or dead lifts and no more treadmill I get the TM, he explained how it is just different than walking outside, more pounding. Recommended an elliptical trainer, bike and swimming for cardio. The only lower body exercise he said I could do was ham curls, I am not agreeing with that at all. I know I have to give it time to heal but did some research and think I will be ok doing box squats, Probably never do much weight again but I"m good with that. As for dead lifts, I have to look into those more. He said his recommendations were what he recommends in I want to really baby and take care of my joints... I get that.
Supposed to go easy until this Thursday and then ease into things. Excited about that. Its been really hard not being able to do the things I want to do. Still always amazes me, one day you are fine and the next your life is changed.
