Quick question for you guys. I have the worst cramp in my hand. It mostly involves my middle finger (watch it Jack) and the ones on either side of it. It runs down from my fingers across the back of my hand and the pain goes up to my elbow. Its almost like a charlie horse (those cramps you get in your calves) only in my hand. Do you guys have any idea what to do to get rid of it. When I get one in my leg I walk it off and stretch but its not working for my hand. No I havent tried walking on my hand but I've been stretching it. It doesnt hurt when its closed either, only when I open it. Any suggestions? I really need that finger when I drive. Just kidding!!!! Watch it Jack!

The only thing I could recommend is just opening and closing your hand, just like you would work out a cramp in your leg. Either that or take a long drive in rush hour traffice and let those involuntary reflexes take over .

How do you think I got the cramp in the first place? I've tried opening and closing it...I cant believe its lasting this long...I think my hand thinks it should permanently attached to a shovel!

"... to a shovel."
well, there it is. some sort of an overuse reaction.
it always surprises me when i get an ache or pain from some new movement which is close to, but i guess not close enough to, the usual stuff.
how's the pool ?

Hi Fish, I kind of figured it was or is an overuse thing but just hoped someone would know what to do about it. It did finally go away but I have yet another trench, actually two, to dig tomorrow so I'm sure it will be back. Good news is no shoulder pain and I've been doing some heavy lifting.
The pool is up and being filled as I type this. Thanks for asking. This is turing into a lot more work than I planned but I think some of it is the perfectionist in me coming out. I am trying to finish all the other jobs I was waiting to do when the kids went back to school so everything will look nice. So far I'm keeping up but I'll tell you, I'm ready to drop. My goal is to have most of it done by Sunday. I can do the rock around the pool myself next week..it will keep me from being depressed about all the kids being back in school...I hate when summer comes to an end.
Anyway I'm sure that is more than you wanted to know. Hope things are going good for you on your end.
