today maybe the last time this year i have to move wood from back pile to porch.

4 cord cut and split being delivered next week, so i'll be working a day at a time for about a month getting it moved and stacked for 2024.

good exercise

it's hard keeping spirits up these days.

but that's why we have to keep fighting !!!

the back pack blower is a good tool.

first the brush cutter to clear out the stuff that blocks the blown stuff,

then the blower.

I was going to do that yesterday… beautiful day out, I had an afternoon meeting so I was home early… and just didn’t have it in me to do it.
Hoping for some time over the weekend.

lifting my spirits is weighty work.

which makes stacking that much more work.

so my daily will be different for a while.

so today got the yard ready, the pallets down, and the first 5 barrow loads stacked.

oh, and p.s., the truck did not pass inspection.

have to replace brake lines all round.

Finally cleaned out part of my garden.. put in a couple raised beds… let’s see how this goes. Need to fill them up now, neighbor has a couple piles of mulch/soil and chicken crap & straw… should be a good start!

Breaks on one truck… muffler on other one… still cheaper than a new one.

i'm surprised that it is this wet.

last year was very good.

same guy, and he seems honest.

for a wood seller.

as for the truck, we are near the ocean and the frame on the 2003 ranger rusted out in ten years, and the frame on the 2013 f 150 is almost gone.

have to take it to a frame repair shot to see if something can be done.

kept the soil from the hanging flower pots for a number of years in a spot at the side of the yard.

just filled a 60 gallon barrel to the top.

it's a black very light potting soil with perlite mixed in.

we also water our hanging plants from the bottom.

drop the hanger into half filled 5 gallon pails of water and let them soak.

time to put the barrels under the eaves to catch the rain water.

thank God, another growing season.

there is a level of skill involved in just about every activity.

moving a heavily loaded, single wheel wheelbarrow, for example.

it wants to get off balance and away.
