we got lucky, weather clear and warm for the eclipse.
96 %, i think, where we are.
set up a water bucket for reflection.
and had heavy duty sun glasses in layers.
occasional glimpses were enough.
I remember 1970.
hope you get some fine weather so you can get out there.
we've been out to the beach since we could get out of the driveway, and that storm was a bad one.
heavy surf hitting sea walls at spots i have never seen before, moving giant granite boulders like pebbles.

Kale is up from last year and garlic looks good. Started some tomatoes inside but I think it was too early. Hoping to transplant them this weekend.

Fighting a cold…. First one in forever! Maxing out on vit c, colloidal, fermented honey garlic. I wanted to make fire cider last fall and never did but I think I’m going to try it next year.
Mostly in my chest but I’m on the mend.

All better. Fermented honey is just that. Put garlic in a jar And cover with honey. Store in dark cabinet. I ended up blending mine up, it goes down a lot easier than trying to eat the whole Clive.
Fire cider just Google it. It’s basically just a mix of garlic, onions, peppers… there are a ton of variations. Take a spoonful or so a day to boost immune system.

I think I made it last summer… July maybe. Probably the longer the better… I didn’t need it till recently. Rule of thumb when in doubt… but real honey doesn’t go bad.
I do have a vacuum sealer but don’t use it much anymore.

vacuum sealer is good for marinades.
we have vacuum sealer tops for ball jars, both top sizes. they work very well, and pay for themselves in short order. available at Amazon, but we found them for less locally.
getting any exercise ?

I have a mason jar sealer, had some issues with the lids holding the seal but I liked it.
No real exercise to speak of, been busy at work… only been nice out the last couple days.

we have vacuum sealer caps in both sizes ball jars.
a tube runs from our vacuum sealer machine to the vacuum cap which covers mouth of the ball jar.
use standard canning lid for the seal, after sealing, screw on the standard canning ring to hold the lid down just as in regular canning.
i think the screw top, or ring, helps keep the lid seal intact.
haven't had a failure yet, and been doing it for years.
saved a lot food.
