Wood
Gestimating an average of 16 inches per split, we have 5 full cord split and stacked.
Better part of a cord to go.
we do about 3 hours a day.
taking the original pile apart was interesting.

wood
some of these are really gnarly.
gnots, don't you gnow.
entire pile about half a cord of such irregular peices that it's going to be interesting to stack them.
probably a pile somewhere on pallets.

rain
stretch NT AD clubs
i can't do any knee impact exercise, even my deadlifting days are gone. (sob!) but i came across a low-no impact "jumping" jack.
pretty good, even if it is not aerobic.
stand, feet together, and simply step out to one side, return the step, step out to the other side, return the step. the arm motions are the same.
i do a lot of indian club work which involves shoulder circles at all angles, these low-no jacks work the muscles differently enough so that i can feel it.

stretch nt ad clubs
the nt involves the abs, so i don't feel quite so guilty about not doing the ball.

wood had to buy more 2x3s. still had the half cinderblocks from long ago when we first went with wood. the truck is still down, so no way to get more pallets.
getting to the end, now. naturally, left the worst for last, so now there is a large pile of irregular, hard to stack stuff.
hope to get a good day tomorrow, as rain is in the forecast.

and again, wood
we are getting on to 6 cord split and stacked.
nc tried the low impact jumping jack - maybe call it a stepping jack - and she is quite surprised that she likes it so much.

wood
got some chainsaw work in.
chain was throwing dust and cutting very slowly. took some time to sharpen the chain. nice shavings after that.
chains are pretty expensive.
spent some time watching you tube "how to sharpen" videos. learned a little from this one and some more from that one. finally got a pretty good picture.
a lot of presenters on you tube have no idea what they are doing.
almost finished.

Wood
A day, maybe more, but less than a week to go.
not much left other than the really gnarly stuff. the 28 ton splitter complains.
practical course in reading wood grain.
i did enjoy working with the chain saws. sharpened the chains, cleaned the air filters, lubed it all up ... next have to change the gas filters and spark plugs.
the Husky doesn't want to re-start when warm. have to let it cool down.
bass ackwards.
less than a week to september.
time flies.

finished with the wood. mostly clean up, although in the detritus there was the occasional piece. and spend some hours burning.
So the summer of 24, the summer of wood, is done.
The trees were cut down in February.
The splitter got here on June 8th. We were away for a couple of weeks. And there was the occasional rain. So working 3 to 4 hours a day for a couple of months, we have split and stacked 6 cord of wood. We already had between 3 and 4 cord stacked and seasoned for over a year, ready for winter 24-25
Depending on the winter temps this should get us through 2027.
God willing.
