I intend to get a treadmill for Nancy.
Any suggestions ?
What features should I look for ?
What do I need to know ?
I'm looking at Smooth 5 or 7.

I have a Nordic Track EXP2000i. I really like it and looked at a lot before I decided on that one. I did not however ever try the Smooth model you are looking at.
I'm not an expert but some of the things I would look for are warranty, size of motor, size of walking belt (width and length), cushioned deck and noise level. Some other things you may want to look at are if it can be folded up to take up less space when not in use, if there are any preprogramed programs on the unit and if you can program in your own.
More extras:
calorie counter, distance, heart rate, time, speed
I think your best bet is to ask around. I've had good luck with mine as has my mom.
