Y’all, As I guess you may have guessed, part of my interest in reverse hypers is that Mr. Simmons says that the exercise is effective in disc injury rehab. NC needs to do something or she’s going to consider surgery. Mr. Simmons and those who refer to him talk about a forward stretch. I've looked at the diagrams of his machine. I’ve read the description of the exercise at the exercise index at www.elitefts.com/My question is: Does he get the stretch by letting the pendulum swing ? Take a look at this for example. This guy is obviously permitting the weighted pendulum to swing. 216.239.41.104/search?q=cache:LdDDpvb8pW0J:www.ironsport.com/article/detail.asp%3FArticleID%3D106++%22reverse+hyper%22&hl=en&ie=UTF-8Seems scarey to me at the forward extreme of the motion ! What do you think ? fish

Fish,it looks about right to me. I like to stop the forward motion just a little past perpindicular though. The stretch does come from the forward movement and the upward movement works the glutes and the lower back. You'll be able to judge how much weight you can handle when you try it out.
What goes up must come down. Don't let the forward swing go to far.
