First the weigh in....havent lost anything at all since last time so total for first week is 2.6.
Totals for Sunday: Total calories 1396, ratios are p/c/f 29%/56%/15% fat 25 grams, fiber 37, protein 107
Thinking of lowing my fat intake to 15% but not sure where to throw that extra 5%. Any ideas?
Really bummed out that I havent lost more but this is how it goes for me. I am going to do this for a full 3 months and if I dont get any results or results that I should I'm doing whatever I need to to find a doctor that can help me. I will have everything documented for the entire time..not that I havent in the past..but so sick of doctors not believing me.

I am pretty sure that over 2 lbs. of weight loss per week is a somewhat unhealthy for most people.

Fish I know I shouldnt lose more than 1-2 lbs per week. I agree with you Ryan, anything more than that is unhealthy and usually means loss of muscle too.
When I lost weight before it was really steady. I almost constantly lost even if it were just an ounce. I didnt plateau much or for very long. I just changed things up when I did and it would start again. I loved/love working out and the diet wasnt hard for me to fall into..in other words it was pretty easy. What is so frustrating is I gained this weight while still eating clean, weighing, measuring, recording, exercising...blah blah blah.
I want it gone yesterday, I know that cant happen.
So to answer your question fish I guess I am really hoping to lose 8-10 lbs a month. Those numbers used to be very doable....maybe thats too much now until I get myself used to eating more, etc. Your thoughts?

Pam,
I'd like to hear from Jack. His recommendations and the reasons for them might change MHO.
I certainly agree with Ryan that more than 2 lbs a week is questionable. Perhaps in the early stages of a regime, but certainly catabolic and unsustainable over time. Heck, it is 26 lbs in 3 months.
I'd like to hear from Jack.

Fish,I'm getting in way over my head on this one as diet and nutrition are subjects that I can barely spell let alone have any rudimentary knowledge. I'm not even sure that we can set a strict number on what is acceptable in terms of weight loss. I do agree that 8-10 lbs./wk. at the onset is going to be within healthy ranges but that will probably drop after the first 3-4 weeks. I think in Pam's case there are other variables that are affecting the situation but she's starting to get a handle on them. My theory is that Pam needs to eat more to lose...just how much in terms of calories I have no clue. I'm positive that her body has gone into a survival mode with the diet that she has had for over a year. I've recommended to her that she eat 5-6 small meals a day with a healthy cpf ratio and adjust her caloric intake based on her weight loss. Find what works and stick with it. i know this is an oversimplication but sometimes the best answers are the simple ones. Way to go on hitting your goals......I'm lagging way behind but I'm determined to catch up .
