Long, long ago someone here mentioned that we-all might list what equipment we have in our home gyms.
Here is a list of my gym toys in the order I would replace them the items if the house burned down:
Concept 2 rowing machine.
Does it all. If you think it doesn’t build bodies, look at photos of rowers. Rowers do limited weight training, if any.
Total Gym model 1100
Does it all, resistance training - aerobic training, and ChristieB is not lying, it IS fun.
Reebok Step and certain tapes.
Step aerobics are underrated by many.
The step can be used as a bench.
Powerblocks
Using the step as a bench one can do just about any weighted exercise.
Very convenient, and actually quite cost effective.
The 300 lb set
The hex bar aka trap bar.
Hexbar deadlifts will make you Strong, and you don’t need the cage.
Which leads to the second 300 lb set
The cage, aka power rack, aka safety rack. And the bench.
Now posible to failure in safety on squats and bench presses.
Also body weight pull ups and dips. One can do "lighter" pull ups and dips on the totalgym.
The NordicTrac ski machine
Does it all. Would be #1 except for C2
The Tunturi stationary Bike w 45 lb fly wheel
Variety is not only nice, but productive. The body adapts.
The heavy bag / speed bag combination
Fun, and exhausting, a great workout.
The high / low cable attachment for the rack.
The ooof ball
bouncing 16 lb medicine ball. Play catch solo.
Indian clubs
Clubbells are the indian club of the day.
The stability ball
Great benefits by just sitting on the thing.
Reverse Hyper set up
This far down I suspect only because I have not finished padding it properly. Pretty nifty rig, though. It broke adhesions in my back that I had for decades.
There is a lot of other stuff, manta ray, belt for weighted pull ups and dips, lifting straps, jump ropes, etc, but I am not in that house right now , and I don’t have a list at this house, so that’s all for now, folks.
