I really wish I had went to medical school. Would just like to run some stuff by you guys and vent a bit.
Got new cholesterol results, lab ran them by mistake. Keep in mind I was only on Zocor for 6 days, not long enough for it to make a difference in my numbers.
So total choles went from 210 to 134, tri from 128 to 114, hdl stayed the same at I believe 43 or 46, LDL went from 141 to 63 (under 100 is good).
Jack was right, I should have had them rerun the test right away. So called the doc, just got a call back from the nurse after waiting 4 days and the doc said nothing about the chol test!!! Just wanted the nurse to tell me I was slightly anemic and to take an iron pill and everything else was good. Dont they pay attention to anything? We really do have to take it into our own hands.
Anyway nurse is checking with the doctor and will get back to me on tuesday when she is in again.
In the meantime started feeling weakness in my left hand/arm again (they were thinking this was due to complicated migraine or TIA's) But was talking to my mom today about it and she wondered if it could be due to nerve damage....duh!! Why didnt you mention this before Mom and why didnt I think about that!!! I truly never even crossed my mind.
I am left handed and draw for serveral hours a day. I developed nerve damage serveral years ago (9 to be exact) due to having to hold Tanner 24/7 for about a year, day and night, night and day. I got really good at washing dishes and folding one handed. Had surgery on my right. It was an awful experience life. Doc didnt numb me up high enough and I felt what they were doing. Opted not to have my left hand done because I was a little gun shy after that.
When I experience this weakness its from my elbow down and my fingers are affected. I am not really losing strength as when I squeeze Ryan's fingers he tells me my left is stronger than my right. I know Jack has had carpal tunnel but wondering if anyone else has and what their symptoms were? My ring finger seems to be affected the most when this happens. And oddly enough it doesnt happen when I am drawing.
I have never had so many things wrong with me in my life but though it has been a slow process the pieces seem to be falling together..at least I hope they are.
That said I go for my sleep test on Monday, really excited about that...read lots of sarcasm into that. But it will be nice to know if I have apnea or not. I do not sleep well at all. Finally fell asleep this morning aroun 5:10AM..alarm went off at 6:30. Not sure how I am staying awake.
Thats it...sorry for going on.
