Two weekends ago we went with our neighbors Acadia National Park.
We had decided to try to hike a “moderate” trail.
I was a little worried. Sue is my age, and Ray is 10 years older. They are neither in nor out of condition. Nancy and I are fit.
Off we went. For our friends this was strenuous. About 1,000 feet elevation gain, with a rocky trail, but good sports, and hardy spirits, and with no alternative once having begun, they finished the trek.
The hike itself was one of those lifetime events. Glorious . Magnificent views of coastal Maine. People come from all over the world to see what we saw.
On our return to the trail head our pals were animated and happy. It was a good day, and they had a modest accomplishment. It was a real hike. They, especially Sue, had surprised themselves, and I thought they were entitled to feel pretty good about it all.
At the trail head we encountered a group of boy scouts who were about to undertake the hike.
Some of the boys were clearly apprehensive.
A fat woman, the mother of one of the boys, pointed to my neighbor Sue, and called out.
“Don’t worry, son, if this little old lady could do it, you can too.”
So now Sue, Ray, Nancy, and I say that we have been officially recognized for the first time as "little old people".
Keep the faith,

Come back to Acadia.
They now have a full bus service in place. Pay admission to the park, and you can ride the interlocking bus system everywhere in the park. There are bike carriers on every bus, too.
If you are campers, go to any of the KOAs in or right next to the park. The bus system runs directly to and from campgrounds and the park. Some of the nearby hotel/motels too.
And give Nancy and me a call. We'll join you.

Never been to Acadia but it sounds beautiful. I've wanted to get out east for a long time now. Would love to visit some lighthouses out there. Also thought that would make a nice honeymoon trip.

Yep, next year. We really havent. My brother said he wants to be invited. We were just planning a justice of the peace wedding with the kids, I really didnt want anyone else there but I dont want to hurt his feelings. We will probably just rent a cabin someplace in Wisconsin or up the North Shore for a weekend then come home and take the kids to Wisconsin Dells for a few days. Tanners been a bit confused, he thought we were already married lol He's so cute. Wonder what has been going through his mind since we dont live together. He's a funny one. Kara had a talk with him, not sure if that was a good idea or not yet lol
