Saw the cardiologist on Friday. Was a bit worried about this appointment. My CRP levels were extremely elevated. Doc told me my heart was perfect and that the levels are more than likely elevated because of my thyroid problem. Recommended having it retested when it was all taken care of. But told me it was not due to any problem with my heart, phew!!!
I mentioned that the doc's are telling me that this problem probably has nothing to do with my weight issues and his exact words were "Thats just crazy". He said the thyroid is the major regulator of your metabolism and any problems with it at all can throw things off. I hope he's right.
Told him the Endo at the Mayo suggested gastric bypass surgery. And he said the exactly what I've been saying all along about docs wanting me to take pills ect. He doesnt see how that would solve the problem. Just a way to treat the symptoms and until I figure whats going on I'd probably just gain it back.
He follows the diet I do, felt the same way about processed foods, etc. It was just so refreshing to talk to a doctor who actually knew something about nutrition and it affects on the body and treats the body as an entire unit. I sure wish he was someone I could see as my regular doctor.
Anyway, the visit went great. I've been thinking I had high blood pressure. In the afternoon it can get up to 130/80. He said you wanted it below 130/85 with optimum being below 120/80. On average mine runs around 115-120 over 72-80.
Hope everyone had a great weekend. I had my very last garage sale...although I have said that before. Made about $180. That might just be enough for a trip to the State Fair. Closed up shop early on Saturday and packed a picnic lunch, threw the kids and Jack in the car and headed out to our little piece of land up north. Tanner and Jack brought Tan's AirSoft guns. They had welts all over and they thought it was great....will never understand that about guys. It was cute watching them though.
