Well here is yet another update.
I went to the Mayo again on Tuesday, missed the kids first day of school and yes I know it was for a good reason and it will ensure I wont miss anymore but it was still hard. They did however survive. Tanner slept in my bed and Ryan said he cried for a little while when he first woke up but other than that everything went great.
Anyway had lost of test run. All came back good except that I am anemic. The doctor told me I need to look into that when this was all done. I said my doc had me on iron pills and he said that they needed to look into why I continued to stay anemic even with the amount of protein I am getting on top of the pills. They certainly dont believe in just throwing pills at you there. He gave me a couple different things to consider and I will do that, with a doctor down here when this is all done.
Met with the surgeons, I had a room full of people in there talking to me. One doctor from Japan, 2 surgeons, the head surgeons nurse and my endo. A bit intimadating until they started to talk. They were all wonderful.
The head surgeon did not like the fact that I was on Plavix and didnt think it was necessary considering my medical history. He asked if I would be willing to meet with one of their neurologists. So I did that today and the short story is I am off it.
The doctors there are amazing. I was told here that I would need to rest for 1 to 2 weeks. At the Mayo they said that would be the worst thing I could do. I could develope a blood clot and die. They want me up and walking the next day. He said since I already exercise I could walk 2-3 miles and lift very light weights. He did inform me that although I would be able to get back to work and exercise that I would be in pain.
So thats the short version. I meet with the surgeon again on the 24th to set up a surgery date. Did I mention they lowered my chances of it not being cancer to 10-15%. But they see no signs that anything has spread.
There were some other key differences between the docs here and there but I am beat...they are interesting though so I'll post more tomorrow.
HOpe everyone is doing good.
Pam
PS sorry for not keeping up here as often as I should but have been gone seems more lately than home.
