So the visiting nurse came in today...She suggested Hospice to us.

Mom still is having digestive issues...she's on stuff to ease the diarrhea but still don't know what's causing it...she felt around her abdomen and she flinched a little...she did that a year ago with the Dr. Nurse first suggested going to Dr...getting tests picked and probed..I'm against it so that's when Hospice came up.

Aww geez, it's never easy is it. I've been under the false notion that since my life has been turned upside down with losing Ryan that I get a pass on anything else bad...doesn't work that way.

Might not be a bad idea just to get an X-ray or something? I don't know. I don't envy you.

My dad us at his spot now. I praying for good news but bracing for the worst. My stomach is in knots.

If there is anything I can do let me know

The Dr. visit leads to an x-ray to a cat scan to admitance to the hospital to tubes and gadgets...I don't think any of us are up to that.

I keep telling myself we're doing the right thing.

She's suffered enough....

Gal was in from Hospice...Hospice sounds so final!

Really nice, signed us up, supposed to get a hosptial bed..maybe as soon as tomorrow. She will also be back tomorrow to check in. Case worker is supposed to come Mon or Tues.

I don't think I like this....but then I suppose there is worse.

Dear Smoke, have you had a conversation with them to confirm what they mean by hospice ?

I suggest that you make very sure they know what you expect from them.

They were pretty good. I don't expect my Mom to last too much longer..they are here to make her and us as comfortable as possible.

when my mother went home-hospice, she had no real idea she was dying.

the word "hospice" came as something of a shock.

Just a quick update...Mom is still kicking...if it weren't for these dang shits she'd probably outlive me. She ate some today but not alot.

Social worker was there, got the hospital bed in, aid was in this morning, nurse supposed to be there tomorrow afternoon...I'm beat!

I will say though Hospice has been great! They really do care...so much different than a nursing home or hospital.

Well, I was going to post earlier and say Mom was doing pretty well..But I had compter trouble...Went out to get Mom up this morning and that didn't go well at all! Limp, wouldn't eat much or drink. Had a hell of a time getting her up off the toilet...usually she is able to stand once I get her up and then I lean her against the washer to get her washed...not today.

Don't know what I'm up against at lunchtime...hope hshe is a bit more responsive...when she get's this way I'd just as soon see her gone!

Thx Pam...she was a bit better tonight but not much. She did eat and drink some. I got her into the bed at lunchtime because I was pretty sure we couldn't get her up.

Yeah I know, I'm just entering the stage with my parents that you've been in for a long time now. It does suck.
