long beach walk yesterday and today yesterday lots of lot work.
the slightest change in exertion has remarkable consequences.
i have been riding stationary bikes and rowing indoor rowers and even indoor skiing all winter long. then we started beach walking and there was what reminded me of delayedonsetmusclesoreness. then we started long beach walking and there is what really reminds me of doms.
getting ready for our trip to europe this june-july.

beach walks and grounds work.
these power saws are really dangerous. i try to keep them tuned, so the blade or the chain keeps turning for some time after the power is off. chain saw tore a piece out of my protective chaps when i got a little careless with a saw that was without power.

heavy yard work moving wood and clearing areas of the 81 property
watch out for ticks. we thought that the cold winter might have good effect, but so far NC is leading with 5 at one outing, while i caught 4 today. it's bad.

out there with the chain saw. dropped a couple of small trees and cut them up. big enough for firewood next winter,
chain saws are terrifying. take your finger off the trigger, and the chain keeps moving long enough with enough force to do a lot of harm. i say it again and again, i fear my power saws as much as my firearms.

lots and lots of yard work cutting and dragging, sweeping, shoveling, dumping, and raking. fall and spring bring good outdoor workouts. tomorrow drive to C2 to get the sleeves on the oars changed. 8-9 hours round trip.
so, smoke, my dear, here comes another one ! a big one for me. all the numbers on the odo roll.

yesterday drove to Morrisville VT to have C2 tune up my oars. today moved the porch wood back to the back woodpile. another law of relativity: it is a lot of wood when you are moving and stacking, it is a little wood when you are burning.

first row of the season.
Sparrows mobbing one of the eagles on its high perch.
And loons, too, an oar's length from the boat, making that long call as the fog was lifting from the water.
So with the eagle it was eyrie, and with the loons it was eerie.
Beautiful out there.
