row red everything seems different this year. the beasties just are not there in the variety and numbers of past years. today watched a loon acting loony, and worried about the bird's health.

row red first time out with gopro. learned to make sure camera is mounted horizontal - got some great diagonal stuff.
ankle somewhat better. doing some PT stuff right out of yoga practice, including sitting on my heels which they say resolves most foot and ankle issues. of course, mine is a spine issue expressing remotely, but ...
the eagle was right out of the bird book, brown and white markings.

row red Tree limb fell on NC's brother's camper/trailer at a nearby trailer campground where he spends the summer. He is not a chain saw kinda guy, so I offered to help. Mistake. Now have a series of laughoutloud happenings. One of the best: Tommy, where's your bar-chain oil ? It doesn't use oil, Jake. It's electric. Tommy, see this screw cap with an oil can on it ? Yeah, always wondered what that was about. Tommy, have you read the manual ? No. I don't read manuals.
I told him he was a mortal threat to himself, but I don't think he listened. Chain saws are not toys. Another one of the best: Jake, a limb fell on my trailer, can you give me a hand cutting it up for firewood. Sure, Tommy. Get there and he has the entire tree - minus branches I admit - waiting for me to buck. It had been taken down by a tree company, but he asked them to leave the wood. Over 18" diameter on the bigger limbs.
He's got a good saw, too. A DeWalt electric, their biggest. But thank goodness I brought my Husky gas saw.
Big tree. Did half the job. Did I mention that he had no food ?
